Pickalittle

There are a lot of things just slightly different here. Really, Ireland or at least Dublin is not all that foreign. Just foreign enough to be occasionally obnoxious. One thing I have noticed is that in all my classes, people will whisper to one another the entire time. They sit behind me, to the side of me, everywhere, just whisper whisper whisper. I feel like they always announce at classes at UW that you need to respect your neighbors and not talk in class, and I always think to myself.. how would you even get away with more than an occasional side comment on the material. I must not be the only one who thinks that way because I have rarely, if ever, noticed people continuously chatting during a lecture at UW. Not the case here. There is already enough static in my head, I don't need mumbled conversations trying to distract me as well.

I'm just sayin'

  1. How odd. Are people paying attention to the lecture? Maybe the whispering is your signal that you don't need to listen? No, shouldn't put ideas like that in your head... ;)

  2. I can't quite tell if people are paying attention. I don't know how they could be. I was told that the tests here are quite easy in the arts classes. But we have papers and things to write as well so who knows.
